DAUGHTRY - Leave This Town
Almost three years after the release of 2006's multiplatinum self-titled debut which went on to be the highest selling rock album of 2007 comes up with another musical masterpiece. Leave This Town is the first album to feature Chris Daughtry with bandmates, Josh Paul (bass), Joey Barnes (drums/piano) and guitarists Josh Steely and Brian Craddock. Together, they work on to deliver immensely twelve (12) amazing pieces, heart warming and inspired performances held together by expressing vocals, anthemic catchy refrain and catchy lyrics laced with wisdom earned on life’s journey and experiences
Leave This Town smoothly shifts gears from powerful rock (“No Surprise,” “Everytime You Turn Around”), to hushed ballads (“September”), and emotional mid-tempo rockers (“Life After You,” “Learned My Lesson”)and a country-influenced “Tennessee Line,” a track Chris wrote with Craddock that features vocal harmonies by country-music superstar Vince Gill.
Chris also collaborated with some of rock’s savviest songsmiths for the album, penning “Learned My Lesson” with Mitch Allan and “Ghost of Me” with music producer Brian Howes; both of whom co-wrote songs on Daughtry’s debut. Leave This Town also includes stellar contributions from Nickelback’s front-man Chad Kroeger.
1. You Don't Belong To Me
2. No Surprise
3. Every Time You Turn Around
4. Life After You -
5. What I Meant To Say
6. Open Up Your Eyes
7. September - Daughtry is able to show off his vocal vituosity on this one. An admirable crafted acoustic gem that breaks into a midtempo rock song. . This track builds throughout, leading to a huge payoff at the end. One of the best song on the album(my favorite)
8. Ghost Of Me
9. Learn My Lesson
10. Supernatural
11. Tennessee Line - One of the slower paced songs on the album, this track toes the line between rock and country while never quite crossing it. An emotional ballad with excellent backing vocals, a string section, and a beautiful steel guitar ringing throughout.
12. Call Your Name
